In Vaktbua's inaugural Cultural Crossroads Session (VCCS) Mars 15th, we embark on this musical odyssey with the exceptionally talented Shanthala Subramanyam.

Born into an illustrious music family in Bangalore, India, Shanthala's musical journey began from birth. Immersed in Carnatic Classical vocal training at the age of 4, she embraced flute playing at 11, mentored by eminent artists like the late Sri. Vairamangalam Lakshminarayanan. Her talent was carefully nurtured by her brother Shashank and father Subramanyam, both assuming the role of teachers. In a landscape where women flutists are rare, Shantala stands out, contributing significantly with her diligent training. Esteemed music critics have lauded her melodic presentations intertwined with intricate rhythmic patterns.

Shanthala's musical contributions extend to her double album CD, "Bamboo in Harmony," "Singing Bamboo," and "Dakshin," praised by both critics and audiences. Collaborating with sought-after South Indian artists, she showcases her prowess. With extensive performances in India, USA, Europe, Canada, UK, Africa, and UAE, Shantala continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
